Hebrew name: Mordechai ben Meir ha'Levi In the ‘Acte de Marriage’ No. 106 from 1813, written by Edmond Joseph Kelleter, “adjoint au Maire” in Aix-la-Chapelle (Aachen), one learns that Marcus Wiener, 19 years old, born in Hoerstgen, (named Marc, but signed as Marcus Wiener) and Jeannette Baruch, 22 years old, born in Fauquemont, (Jeannette has signed as Hanna Baruch) married on July 9, 1813 in Aix-la-Chapelle. The necessary pre-announcements appeared on June 27 and on July 4. The following witnesses have signed: Kivi Baruch, 60 years, ‘graveur’ and father of the bride, living in Aix (signed as Kivit Baruch) Moyses Isaac Levi, 38 years, friend of the bride, living in Aix Pappel Jean Thomas, 21 years, neighbour of the bride, living in Aix Baruch Löb, 24 years, brother of the bride, living in Aix. He was imprisoned in Buchenwald concentration camp after Kristallnacht in Nov/Dec 1938 and immigrated to the USA in April 1938 and from there to Sao Paolo, Brazil where he became Scientific Director of a newly established Institute of Radiology.
