  Ron was a pilot who due to a perceived eye problem, was not allowed to fly for the RAF during the later stages of WW2. Upset by this, he took himself to the USA where the USAF assessed his eyesight and deemed him competent to fly. He had a career at the end of the war hauling freight back and forth to Berlin where he met and fell in love with his wife to be. He was a professional pilot throughout his working life, later becoming an instructor. He purchased a plane registration N2861G from the Navy in Arizona.
