  • Notes
    • I found her birth reg. in LDS film #1175374.
I don't find her in the Vienna cemetery burial list -- so I hope that she did not die as a child as did the
other 2 children I have found.

Update: she is listed in the obit for her father (d. 1895)-so she was alive at that time. She is listed in the obit for her mother (d. 1917) - so she was alive at that time. In both obits, she is listed as Gertrude Bondi (so she was unmarried at the time of her mother's death although her sister Franziska was already married and listed in that obit as Franziska Hecht).

I have found some information on web (about Vienna exils in Columbia -- where there is mention of Franziska Bondi Hecht -- and mention of her sister, Gertrude Bodenwieser who went to New Zealand. (July 30, 2004)....I did search for "Carlos Hecht"

Search for Gertrude on web found the following: She died 10 Nov 1959 in Sydney. She "adopted" the surname Bodenwieser--- she was married to Friedrich Jacques Rosenthal
( on 27 June 1920). They left Vienna for Paris --- then she went to Columbia and then to Australia via New Zealand in 1939. Rosenthal stayed in France but was arrested and sent to Auschwitz. Believed he died in 1942. (July 30, 2004).

From one source on web it says she is younger daughter -- so that means Franziska was the older.

From search of National Archives of Australia web site, find that she arrived in Sydney on 23 August 1939. Also, appears as if Frederick Rosenthal sent her money from 14 Nov 1940 to 20 Feb 1941.
