Notes - A cattle dealer and butcher (shochet). The name established in Meudt is derived from the given name Heyum/Hayyim/Haium => Heyumberg => HEILBERG. An extract from the Hessisches Hauptstaatsarchiv (=HHStA) in Wiesbaden, archive number "Abt. 116 No. XIV 3" and "Abt. 243 No. 919" explains that Heyem son of Isac of Meudt paid the protection money as it fell due untill he suffered repeated looting and other events during the Napoleonic Wars. His wife Eva was shot to death in their own house whilst in his care..
