Notes - The family name Heinemann is not listed in Lars Menk's 'Dictionary of German-Jewish Surnames' as the name adoption list for Koenigheim in Baden was not available in 2004 when the dictionary was published. However, we now know the name was adopted by Joseph in 1809.
Lars Menk also says in his email of 3 April 2016 "Heinemann was a popular germanized form of 'Hayyim'. So the family of Joseph's father, the already deceased Hayum [bar] Joseph [bar] Marum turned his given name to their newly adopted fixed and hereditary family name.
Interesting in that regard is the given name 'Marum' or 'Maram', which as know is shortened for “MaHaRaM” for “moreynu ha-Rav Me'ir” [Hebrew] “our teacher the Rav Me'ir” and was traditionally used as a cognomen of 'Me'ir' among the descendants of the “MaHaRaM Rothenburg”, Rabbi Me'ir ben Baruch (abt. 1215 - 1293), mostly through his descendants in the WEIL family. So there's a good chance that Joseph Marum of Koenigheim descended from the WEIL family too."
