Notes - In the Hebrew text of his headstone on the 3rd Jewish cemetery in (now: Bad) Camberg his name is “Ephraim ben Naphtali Blumenthal”. The word order is incorrect. Naphtali is the religious form of the old secular name Herz, of which Hermann is the modern version. The correct Hebrew name is Naphtali ben Ephraim. He was the oldest (and only) son of his parents and therefore got this traditional name. In his last years, he lived in his son Eduard’s house in Camberg and was therefore burried in Camberg.
